trumpet with colorful music notes coming out
Tuesday April 28 ; 6:00 p.m. Band Spring Concert in the Multipurpose Room. MPS clear bag policy in effect.
When to come: As announced before, the concert is on Tuesday April 28th. The concert itself starts at 6:00pm and should be done by 6:40. Short and sweet. To properly get ready, students need to be in the Band Room with instruments ready NO LATER THAN 5:45pm for preparations and warm-up (so maybe aim to be here a little before that). Students will unpack their instruments in the Band room and then we will meet in grass along McLellan. Concerts are stressful enough, but being late just makes it worse.
What to wear:Nothing specific, but something nice. Find the nicest dress clothes you happen to already have, but no need to go overboard with a tux or prom dress and definitely don't buy anything new for this. Something like a collared shirt or blouse and dress pants/skirt (skirts must go below knees). I’d like to avoid blue jeans, but if that’s all you have, try to find a darker pair with as few, or no, holes as possible.Closed-toe shoes (tennis shoes or anything like that are fine). As for a shirt, do your best. A collar would be fantastic (even button-down), but avoid words or pictures. Use your best judgment on what looks nice. Girls, you can wear dresses or skirts as long as they meet the school dress code. Also, no shorts except for girls to wear under their skirts or dresses.
PRACTICE!!!If it sounds right, it is right. If it sounds good, it is good. If you like the way you sound, then your parents are going to be blown away. Just take a little bit of time each day making yourself more comfortable and more confident with each song.
What to bring: Arrive wearing the clothes listed above. Have your instrument and all parts (including reeds, mouthpiece, neckstrap, etc.) and your music. Again, concerts are already stressful enough. Please be prepared so you can be relaxed. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING IN YOUR CLASSROOM!!!
Who to invite: Friends, family, everyone. Music and our skills are meant to be shared with the world. We have been working very hard and you all sound great. Please bring as many people as you can so you can show them how awesome you have worked to become!
